"SOMETHING"

I trust that everyone is having a phenomenal week!  Here are two cards that I am sending out today. I am sending the pink card to encourage a friend in nursing school. I do not yet have a recipient in mind for the flower card. More on this later below.

My intent is to spread the gift of encouragement with others. I hope also to remind others that we are all gifted with "something". The purpose of that "something" is to positively impact the worldMy goal (at least for now) is to impact those within my realm of acquaintance. So that means YOU

I would love to send you a handmade card. Or perhaps, you may know of someone who could use a word of encouragement. Please contact me and let me know.

Many thanks to AI, the recipient of the pink card, for sending me her contact details! AI - I send you encouragement, prayers and lots of all-niter mojo. May God finish the good work He has begun in you and lead you to a rich and fulfilling career in nursing.

Remember, each of us has "something" and can do "something". Until next time, family.

Blessings and bliss,

Mrs. Nicks

Who can you bless today?

Here are two cards that I am sending out this week. I am experimenting with the PaperTrey Ink (PTI) line and I am enjoying myself! The first card includes a patterned paper compatible with the PTI cardstocks and inks. The second card includes a background paper created on their white cardstock with their stamps. I used Verve stamps for the sentiments and I also played with Spellbinders Dies for the circular die cuts and scalloped mats.

Other paper/ink lines that I am interested in include Stampin' Up and Gina K. Designs. For right now, though, I am enjoying PTI. For about $100 I got enough material to get started. This included white 120-lb weight cardstock, colored cardstock, patterned paper, compatible inks and 2-stamp sets. So far, here is my review of the PTI line:

PROs:
  • Affordability
  • Coordinating Color System - cardstock, patterned paper, inks, ribbons, buttons all match and work together seamlessly
  • High-quality white cardstock (for card bases)
  • Good-quality stamped images
  • Fast shipping
  • Accompanying dies for stamps
  • Rewards point system for purchases
CONs:
  • Oddly shaped ink pads
  • Slightly difficult to navigate website

For more information about the products used, view the links below:

http://www.ucutathome.com/store/index.php - This is where I buy my SB dies. Register and get a 40% off coupon every month!

The first card is going to someone experiencing the first anniversary of his dear wife's passing. The second card goes to close family friends who are always so loving and supportive. We used to live in the same town as them and we miss them dearly :-(.

May God's blessings of hope and love accompany the sentiments of each card.

Who can you bless today with your gifts?

Answering the call

Greetings and Salutations!

Welcome to A Word Fitly Spoken. I am Mrs. Nicks and I am a teacher, nurturer and healer in my heart of hearts. One of my greatest talents, though, is the gift of encouragement. I have felt compelled for some time now to share my creative gifts to uplift others. So, I'm taking this leap of faith!

On this blog, you will find various forms of artistic expression used to positively impact others. In fact, if you or someone that you know is in need of uplifting, simply contact me through this vehicle.

I hope that you enjoy Fitly Spoken. I encourage you to find your niche and have the courage to dive right in. Truly, each one of use can use our giftings to spread the love, hope and joy of our Savior.

Welcome and visit often!
